The 2nd Art Biennale in Tarnów, Poland.

So, I have been thinking about starting a blog on this website, to tell you a bit more about my work, experiences, projects and processes. And to do that, I thought that the best way to begin could be to share some wonderful news with you.

The Centrum Sztuki Mościce in Tarnów, Poland organized their second Art Biennale this year; a fellow artist and friend from Poland, who also lives here in Norway, told me about it, and I decided to check it out, I read the rules and requirements and the 13th of August I applied. I was so excited and so nervous, just waiting for an answer, that arrived to my email the 23rd of August:

“Dear Sir/Madam,
We are pleased to inform you that out of 249 submissions, the jury has selected 89 works for the exhibition, including your work. The selection process was exceptionally difficult, as all submissions demonstrated a very high artistic standard. The jurors engaged in extensive discussions, analyzing the works in terms of their alignment with the competition's theme, artistic merits, technical mastery, originality, and innovation. An important criterion was also the evaluation of the work's significance in the context of the artist's previous creations, experience, and achievements in the field of art.”

I honestly cried when I got this email, one of my goals is to make art that resonates with others, and to be included in an international event like this one showed me once again that my work is important and valid, that there’s space for my crations in the world.

And so, I started the process to send my piece there, it was not an easy task but it was doable.

Sadly, I was not able to be there on the vernissage, but a couple of artists who could assist shared some pictures with me that you can see on my instagram account.

The exhibition was open from the 12th of September until the 2nd of October, 21 days for people to visit, enjoy and perhaps take a second to see my work too!
