The eyes of the moon

When I was little my grandmother told me that whenever I felt sad or lonely I could just look up to the moon and that loneliness would fade away; since then I have always felt a strong connection with the moon.

This makes me think about all the people around me, and how we are more connected than we think, how many of us are looking at the moon at the same time sharing that specific moment and how the moon, as the mother she is, is looking back at us and covering us with her light.

This is a soft sculpture made out of felt, in a circular metallic base and covered with 7 hand-sculpted clay eyes and hundreds of hand-stitched sequins and glass beads.
